The Cook County Emergency Rental Assistance Program can help Cook County residents who have difficulty paying their rent or utilities due to COVID-19.

Applications will be accepted beginning October 4th.

Following CDC guidelines and advice of the local health department, attendees are encouraged to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

All attendees, especially those who are not vaccinated, are encouraged to wear a face mask for their own safety.

Additionally, we are requiring RSVPs in advance to accommodate social distancing. There is also a limited amount of seating. To ensure you have a seat, please bring a lawn chair.

Month Long Food Drive at the Northbrook Public Library

The Northbrook Public Library will be hosting a food drive benefitting the Northfield Township Food Pantry throughout the month of September.

From September 1st through September 30th residents can drop off non-perishable food items, in boxes, cans and plastic containers, in the library’s lobby during regular operating hours.

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Field Middle School

West Northfield School District 31 has partnered with the Illinois Department of Public Health to host a Vaccine Clinic on Thursday, August 26th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Field Middle School located at 2055 Landwehr Road in Northbrook, for kids over the age of 12 and adults. 

Both the Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccine are available. (Johnson and Johnson is for adults 18+ only).

The second dose for those taking the Pfizer vaccine is Friday, September 17th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

District 31 students and families can walk in. Parents must accompany students. Any ID is acceptable including a student or employee ID.

Destination Vaccination: Free Rides to Vaccine Appointments

The Cook County Department of Public Health , together with Kaizen Health are offering free rides to get people to and from their vaccination appointments.

To schedule a ride, call 833-308-1988.

Kaizen Health can provide vehicles to accommodate most residents, including those in wheelchairs or who may need chair seats.

North Shore Legal Aid Clinic: Free Cooking Demonstrations with Professional Chefs & Help for Domestic Violence Victims

The North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic is hosting free virtual cooking demonstrations on the 2nd Thursday of each month during the summer.

In addition to the professional chef demonstrations, attendees can ask questions about domestic violence and seek help, anonymously in the chat, from clinic lawyers.

No domestic violence content will be shown in the video.
