Emergency & General Assistance
Both general and emergency financial assistance are administered according to guidelines adopted by Northfield Township and the State of Illinois. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017, $182,589 was distributed in aid with $81,453 spent on administrative costs. LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) is a federally funded program that provides support to needy low-income households for utility bill payments. LIHEAP Direct Vendor Payment, is a one-time benefit payment to the utility companies. This winter heating season, LIHEAP-eligible applicants will be able to apply at Northfield Township for energy assistance.

Access to Care
Access to Care is a medical assistance program in Cook County that provides health care services to low income, uninsured individuals who are not eligible for Medicare or Public Aid.
